Rayman is a 2D horizontal scrolling platform video game, developed by Ludimedia, later become Ubisoft Montpellier, and published by Ubisoft. Initially developed and released for the Jaguar console in 1995, the game was adapted into two other versions, PlayStation and Microsoft Windows, released the same year.
The game is based on the quest for the fictional character and protagonist Rayman set out to save the world from the threat of antagonist Mister Dark. The latter removed the Large Protoon, an artifact that reigns balance and harmony, and causes the caging of the Electoons, small creatures that revolved around the Large Protoon. To save the world, Rayman must free the Electoons1 through five different worlds, then fight Mister Dark at the Palace of Earthly Delights.
